Post A quick review of Elite Track Days

Well as I've posted previously I attended my first ETD event on Monday at MSR- Cresson and had a blast. The day started off with a riders meeting upstairs explaining the flags and passing rules. Only 2 flags yellow and checkered which seemed odd to me at first but then found out some of the attendees were color blind(thus no red not sure why no black but it was never needed anyways). No passing in the turns in groups 1 in the morning and only outside passing allowed in the afternoon. Group 2 was allowed to use their judgment and again it worked out great.

Neither group 1 or 2 was full. Group 1 was an interesting set up. They ran round robins sessions 1, 2 and I think part of 3 but increasing the pace as they progressed. Many of the riders esp. the newer track riders seemed to appreciate this as the instructors would actually let a student lead and then follow them. There were quite a few instructors I think 1 every 4 riders or maybe even 3 and they were available to level 2 riders as well (I had some fun with one on a supermotard for 2 sessions and man that guy helped me with the lines.) Another one just had some really funky lines but seemed to work for him but def not for me.

Group 2 in the morning only had 12 riders. Can anyone say open track? It was sweet no traffic = no issues. The pace was moderate at best although it did pick up in the afternoon as the track came in (d'uh).

Corner workers were out on the track making sure people were keeping it safe and helping when wrecks occurred. Reaction time was good then again there were only 3 wrecks the entire day!

I had the op to run with group 1 so I could go see how my buddy was doing and enjoyed it even with the no passing in the turns. In the afternoon some of the group 1 riders who were smooth and predictable were bumped to group 2 (maybe 3-5 of them) and didnít become obstacles.

They had a truck out to pick up down riders and fire safety crew but on the missing was an ambulance:eh:

ETD group seem to be a tight group of friends doing this for the right reason......FUN or at least it felt that way. I felt right at home as soon as I arrived.

I will def attend another of their event in the future.

Thanks Elite for a great day away from the office:notworthy

BC

(I know my writing sucks. thanks)

Nice but that new rear power you put on saturday is pretty close to toast. Time for slicks ot race compounds which I'm sure you will be able to help me with. Motorcycles Unlimited FTW:icon_bigg

Elite Track days is by far the most track time for your money! very well organized, no BS ego's and only people that really want to learn and ride. I highly suggest it for anyone, You just can't beat that amount of track time. I was so tired I left at 3pm and I've never left a track day early. Moira's great and runs an awesome event. Kudo's to her.
