I LOVE the track, but won't ever give up riding on the street... I don't have to do breakneck speeds to enjoy my time on a motorcycle.

To each their own I guess...
Riding from light to light in 35 mph zones is not my idea of fun, nor is travelling at mach speeds on freeways. Backroad runs are a blast, good friends, good times, etc. It's the everyday riding from on parking lot to another or one light to another is no fun for me.....and I do like speed....I think my bike was designed to go fast, not crawl in city traffic:icon_bigg Oh, I like the adrenaline rush too that comes from the track, as do the other 99% of participants that join in on the track fun.

Did you even read my posts? :icon_bigg

Who doesn't get a rush from a trackday? If you don't, then you probably shouldn't own a sportbike!

But if you ONLY have fun on a track, then I doubt your enjoyment for motorcycling, that's all. I think it's all about the rush and that you could get it sky diving, cliff jumping, etc...

Give me a Ninja 250 and a twisty backroad and I'll have an absolute blast... seems like too many people don't think that would be a good time.

Yes, I got all the way through the part where you said you hated it when people said they didn't like riding the street after riding the track

Personally, I don't think that would be a good time. Call me an adrenaline junky, not a motorcyclist

Yep, +1!

Don't have to go 150+ with your hair on fire to have a good time.

I don't feel safe on the street here. It is that plain and simple. The drivers in the Houston area are the worse I have ever seen. I have been rear ended in my car and I was almost killed on my bike. Yes, almost killed. A large sedan passed me in my lane at over 100mph and within seconds caused a multi-car pile up in front of me. It was a Sunday morning on 610.

On the track I feel much safer. I pretty much know the pavement is clean. I know there is medical and motorcycle aid there. AND, I KNOW there are no cops.

Yes, I love the thrill of the track. I love the challenge. I love the feeling of getting a good line learned, finding that sweet braking point, and just the right gear changes for the entire track. I cannot find that on the street without taking huge risks.

Bikes are built for specific purposes. I don't own a touring bike, a commuter bike, a cruiser, a standard, or anything that isn't originally designed for sport use.

and don't get me wrong, i have been riding on the streets up in NH for the last 6 years or so and i loved riding the streets up there cause it's all Mountains and curvy roads with NO TRAFFIC!!! and it was always a blast, but down here it's very unsafe like 04rsv stated. way to many close calls and yes i'm an edrenaline junky but i know where to play and when not too. This was my first track day down in Texas and it's the safest and best place to play with my bike so that's why i say i'm sticking to track. but i will be looking for another bike for the streets just later on next year..

It was fun playing with you, I need someone to push me or I will ride safe and not push it at all! So I do look forward to riding with you at TWS (Texas World Speedway)!! Chris and I will have someone else to play with!
