Passing rules are based in which group you ride.
The no passing in the corners rules only applies to our beginner/ C group.
This track day offers FREE instruction and we'll be working with people how to safely pass riders on the inside and the outside of corners.
This event is for a great cause............

I rode it with Ride Smart and really enjoyed it. I'm at the top of the noob curve tho but I liked how it evened things out between faster riders and myself due to the slow mph curves. I'm considering the LSTD & I'll ride it again next season for sure. (Bathrooms will encourage my g/f to come back - she said those bathrooms in the mini mart place were gross)

I went in August and what a great track for the 600s! This is prob not the place you'd want to have a noob day, its pretty techincal. Now that the weather is much cooler than the 105 degree day we had last time, Id venture the 20 miles out to do it again!

Hmmm, interesting perspective. My experience is that the technical tracks are the perfect place to train and instruct. You bring people up from a slow pace, and by the end of the day, their skills are honed to the point that they will be comfortable on just about any track and can join the track day groups that are more aggressive. Proper instruction and proper pace will be a big benefit on a technical track.

Seems to work well with Buck at MSRH, that track is tight and technical too, and Oak Hill is regarded as one of the best training tracks especially in our area- and it's about as technical as it gets.

To each their own I guess.

i think it best suits the needs for noobs over experienced riders. or some TMGP ACTION!!!! i wonder if TMGP would consider doing a race there, that would be fun. Grandsport doesn't have any OVERLY fast turns which i think is better for noobs. they have nice and basic turns which could help teach turning in, brake points, shift points and all the other trackday mumbo jumbo we all had to learn.

although if CMRA ever came out there, i would much rather race at Oak Hill than Grandsport.

I looked at the track for LMS and passed. I would not think you could safely put more than 15 bikes on the track at a time and be able to run any sort of pace, let alone 20+. Ya'll have fun and be careful.........
