Anyone heard of Hyosung GV650?

One of my friend is very interested in purchasing one.
It looks great from spec sheet, but was wondering if anyone had a actual experience on it.
I mean, price of mid-size cruiser ($6,000-ish), power of Magna (70+hp), look of v-rod... sounds too good?

Do a search on Hyosung. Several people have posted up their experiences with them and most have been very positive.

I've only heard about the GT650, a SV650 style bike. One of the bike magazines did a back to back test with a SV650 and it did not compare favorably. Higher weight, lower power, and a 2 to 3 year old SV would be cheaper. Of course the reviewers are experienced riders. A newer rider would probably not care about the performance difference and would appreciate the warranty. I would ask the dealer about parts availability.

OK, I went to a dealer on Monday, was able to test it and thought it was great!
It had good looks, deeper engine sound, better acceleration than my Honda Spirit 750.
And it was only $5,700 brand new!!! even comes with 2 yrs warranty!!!
Naturally, I can't pass such a deal, so soon as my friend (who originally was looking for a new cruiser) agreed to take over the payment for my Spirit I applied for a new loan and just got approved. I'll pick up the bike on next Monday

There, I told you guys... now I gotta tell my wife...

My girlfriend and I looked at the 250s but she didn't feel comfortable on it...tank was too bulky and awkward. The bike does have some nice lines. Don't know about the engine...

The GT650/GV650 share the same powerplant. . .that bike is also sold as part of UM's lineup(V2c-650). Parts availibility and dealer support should not be an issue for you, but the (relatively) low number of aftermarket parts should be considered. Do a simple Google search and you'll find most consumers are happy with their hyosungs.
