noob cruise

my buddy is picking up his 07 cbr600rr tommorow evening...he hasnt really ridden before, ive been riding for about 7 months now f.y.i., I havent met anyone in person or ridden on this forum yet

I like to think that im really careful and cautious, I dont speed (much) and dont stunt or show off, my buddy's not the type of guy that will do that stuff either. Anyway, he gets his bike friday about 6 o clock and I'd imagine we'll be riding alot friday evening and saturday afternoon/evening...so if anyone wants to ride let me know I live by sugarland off hwy 6 and ft. bend tollway...

oh and we will be bustin a post-ride chill at my place, and prob. grilling sat. sometime...all are welcome pm me for details and phone #

so far its me, the new bike, and another buddy that's been riding for awhile

take care of that 07, have you sat down and gone over the basics with him. I guess he expects to ride away from the dealership.

yeah ive gone over the basics (as much as possible with my limited experience) and taken him to a parking lot to fart around on my bike...I tried to get him to ride from the lot but he wont ill be meeting him at stubbs after wk to load in my truck...I can say that he is the most careful person I know when it comes to ANYTHING from money to vehicles to...whatever...but yeah I can assure you the 07 will be well cared for

MSF, and a new bike for a newbie, I dont agree. MOST likely if going to see the ground. Even if its just a tip over.

Thats a realllly light bike with more then enough power.

I've been on here less then three months, and Ive already been invited to a wedding. Just keep an eye out for Events like the Vito Meet tonight!

yeah when I said take care of the 07, I didn't mean an oil change and a wash. I meant don't drop it. Another thing, dont ride it like a puss, get your moneys worth, wind that up.

Tell your buddy to take it very easy and tell him to do an MSF (motorcycle safety foundation) course. It will teach him tons and keep him safe. If he is safety conscious, he'll eat up the info. Most of us here took MSF. Usually before you buy the first bike, but oh well...

He can also try the BRC, which is the same course but on his bike. Lots of slow moving maneuvers teaching handling of the bike and making you very familiar with it.

There is a trackday on Sunday and I'll be there watching. You'll meet lots of folks there. Check it out, it should be right around your corner.

I am the one with my arm in the sling. Come up to me and say Hi!
