those big heavy steel link chains with hardened tool steel are extremely hard to get through... they will wear out a small cutoff tool and they are impossible to get with bolt cutters. Patrick has some like em up at his shop, I think cycle gear has em too. they are a little bit expensive, and you can still get through em, but it will take something like jaws of life or a gas powered cement cutte to power through them, so its going to deter your average theif if you chain it to a light pole in front of the movie theater or somewhere with lots of traffic (where jaws of life and/or gasoline powered saws might be noticed, esp with your disc alarm going off full tilt).

cheap and not fool proof but should help.

Lock forks duh

cheap bike cover not a good one as in if you use a $19 bike cover your bike isn't worth stealing.
