Rider Down RIP in Manvel

A young male rider on a red Ninja 250 went down in a multi vehicle collision with an SUV at intersection of 1128 and Charlotte street just north of Hwy 6 in Manvel moments ago.

We shared a wave passing twice a day passing opposite directions on our commutes.

I arrived on the scene before EMS but out of respect I took no pictures. Unfortunately as we waited for them it was clear nothing more could be done.

Many days I thought to follow him and find out his name but never did. I am truly going to miss, this brother I never got a chance to know.

I didn't see it happen so I can't be absolutely sure, but the mid 50s ish female driver was just getting out of her vehicle. Seems like the classic left turn scenario .

Happened right in front of the driving school with the high schoolers getting out. Everybody was shaken up. He had on a black Icon helmet but it was clear from the position of the body he was already gone.

RIP to the fallen brother. I had a "friend" like that years ago. Me and him were always passing each other coming and going on highway 30.

It's just long, straight, and the scenery never changes. It lulls the idiots to sleep and the cell phones and other bull doesn't make it any better. By the time you get to Alvin from 288 you have all lanes blocked by a row of cars, 3 cars thick, all half asleep doing 15 under the speed limit running red lights and all kinds of stupid . I hate it.
