Which bike to get? (zx6r rider to sporty-cruiser)

Hey all,

I'm debating which bike to get next... I'm selling ol' blue, my 05 zx6r, and will be getting a cruiser. I'm getting married (no, this isn't a the future wife wants the bike gone), and riding 2-up over distance on a sports bike is no bueno. Ideally, I'd keep my ninja and covert it to track only, but I'm not making dough like that lol.

My question is... What are the more sporty cruisers out there? Slim design, not super bulky, decent power (not like WOT 636cc, but enough oomph to feel like I'm not putting along). The bike will be used for touring and country cruises. I want it to be comfortable for 2-up as well, as a high priority.

For those that I've cruised with before, I hope we can still ride, even though I won't be on a sports bike anymore, hahaha.

The bike world outside of sport bikes is foreign to me. Heard a lot of good things about the VTX, but I feel that bike is recently bulky and heavy. Hmm..

Thanks!

FZ1 all day. After owning/riding more than 20 bikes (I flip em, test em etc)... the Gen2 FZ1 is my favorite all around platform.

With a few cheap upgrades you get all day comfort ( nice seat, handlebars, etc) , sport bike handling (R1 shock swap), and 140rwhp on tap (ECU flash and slip on)- and all under 500lb.

Givi/luggage, cruise control, etc etc are all add-able. And are not exclusive of the super sporty upgrades as well.

PS- did I mention theyre cheap?

The new FZ1 (FZ10) is getting madAmazing reviews - but doesnt have the same price point or aftermarket support of the gen2.

Mine will carry a 30-pack of stones 150mph, cruises all day comfortably, and can lead the fast group/would be totally fine in a L2 track day.

DOOD -
Keep your bike and buy her, her own sport bike. True love is poppin wheelies together. There's a 07CBR600 that just went up on here with a clean title - $2400. It's track, but that can be converted back for under a Franklin. It'll definitely step up your life an order of magnitude over just one cruiser. Just imagine chassin her fine A$$ on the 610 when she's got on her boots, hair hangin out the bottom of that helmet, mesh jacket without a shirt, hunched over with that protective leather riding thong.
You'll never NEVER get that view if you buy a cruiser!!

Get a 1st Gen FZ1 then keep the Kawi and turn it into a track bike. Or maybe this FJR http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...&highlight=FJR

Or sell the Kawi and buy this Concours http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...&highlight=FJR

If you are thinking about a cruiser bike, keep you current and buy a Victory Hammer-S. Harleys are overrated, Victory's are really nice bikes too.

Me personally I love my Street Glide Special for when I'm in the mood to kick back and relax while chewing up the miles but if you aren't specifically interested in a harley there are plenty of other good choices, if you want a harley then do it right the first time and buy one cause nothing else will ride the same. If you are looking for plenty of power with 2up comfort check out the concours 14. It uses a slightly detuned version of the gen1 zx14 motor, has hard bags, and sits upright. As mentioned the Victory baggers are a good option also. Also might be worth looking at a Yamaha raider, 1900cc twin that makes plenty of torque.

Although it's a close tie between that and Gen1 FZ1. Gen1 has its pros over 2, but at the end of the day I would get 2

If you can find one, Harley XR1200. Sporty little cruiser and not bad looking for a Harley lol.

Not a bad bike if you upgrade the suspension but the OEM is garbage.
