LSTD Track Day Certificate

David/Tango contacted me about his meet and greet event and stated that he would like to give away an LSTD gift certificate as a "door prize" at his next bike night. As soon as we agreed to offer some support he posted our involvement on this BBS. My phone and e mail began to blow up.....
I recanted our trackday offer due to his recent actions here on this BBS with regards to his Tango track days, comments about Patricia along with other BS. Like I told David on the phone today good luck with your endeavors but I don't have time to listen or worry about who we assist in promoting our sport. I have always learned where theres smoke theres fire. We have always supported motohouston providing track day certificates and t-shirts at the BBQ's along with sponsoring this BBS. We will continue to support the motohouston family as we have always done.

Well this is way more politics than I like but let me weight in a little since we have been doing this game for a while. It seems that every post made by David has a different price and game plan of the proposed track day. I know for a fact that TWS (Texas World Speedway) does not allow wheelies, stoppies, or burnouts anywhere on the premesis because of the insurance liability and now they are going to allow a stunter show on hot pit lane at lunch? I may be wrong about this but I don't think so! As Steve posted we pulled our "door prize" giveaway based on certain character issues of David's that we will not discuss in a public forum unless pushed to do so. Man if there are millions of dollars in corporate sponsorship just laying out there then LSTD and Ridesmart must be idiots because every year the help that we get from our sponsors is so much harder to get! I really don't understand how David thinks it is allright to slam us on this forum and then expects us to honor our agreement so that he can promote himself and his track day business. We love the folks on MotoHouston but we are going to sit this one out!

How didn't he? They pulled their offer for a free trackday. Sounds like they're sitting it out in regards to support.

Ahh, I took it as sitting out the drama fest.

Still seems silly though. Giving them a certificate to give away and taking it away. Shoot give 'em 10 to give away. They're just prizes that bring people back to their fold. Calling it 'support' for an event is a bit of a stretch IMO.

For the record I don't know Tango or much about the event in question other than what's in this thread.

Arturo, you just to be cool in my book lol:laughing6:laughing6

I bet more than one guy just went there to see if they could win the track day. I may be wrong though but i doubt it.

Lets put it in our terms - There is a party at hooters and they are giving away a new Mac, you will be there just for the mac, forget the wings.

There are always leeches looking for handouts. BUT, it was made out to seem like they retracted being a major TITLE sponsor, not a little door prize.

yeah, suspenseful novel indeed. i actually read all 8 pages.

david, i thought you had a good idea at first also.....and i gave you a few opinions on what i think should happen. but it's seeming more like a circus act now. it WAS about a few guys who wanted to save some dough with a cheaper trackday, then it became a all-in-one trackday with stunters/racers/bikini girls, and now it's become a bunch of BS. hey, if you made it happen, that's great....but the way it's going, i hope you don't lose out.

most people who ride the track will tell you.....shutting down the track for 2 hours for some stunts....is not a good idea. these people pay you for tracktime, that's what they expect. some people are not even happy when you shut it down for lunch, because most people will eat between their sessions.

but also, you stated your trackday was for licensed racers or experienced trackday rider....

but take note, that licensed racers can run oak hill for $70, and i believe hallet is in the same price range. that would be for any day of the week with a "heads up" phone call. also, an experienced trackday rider can run in the "licensed racer group" (with any of the other trackday orgs.) with little to no traffic also.

good luck with your plans.

David,

We always have 2 ambulances.
Have a preferrred rate with Manor House inn which comes with a continental breakfast.
We let riders cornerwork to help with their expenses.

If we pay for the track for the day , we ride. Sometimes there are exceptions when we can ask the track for a reprieve from weather. Mostly allowed at MSR Cresson not TWS (Texas World Speedway).

I have been in this business for 8 years. We started consistant, affordable track days for motorcycles in Texas and we deal with each on track incident as they happen.
We do not get on message boards, plan something, change it, alter prices, bash competitors, or mislead prospective sponsors or riders in any way.
I wish you luck in your events but you need to think before you speak or post on any public forum. Any further discussions about me or LSTD should be done in private.
