Smile 1981 Yamaha XV750 Virago

I am looking to upgrade the wiring harness, grounds, gauge of wires, better location/routing. and eliminate non essential wires. Also reolacing dual carbs to single and updated ignition system

i have been there with an 82. i would suggest trying to make the stock dual carb set up work, if it does not already. i spoke to greg hagemann when i was working on mine. he said he never could get the 750 running right on a single carb. his custom viragos are mostly the 920's, for what it's worth.
the wire harness on mine was horrible, too. any wire i messed with, broke in my hands. find a drawing of the stock wiring harness and go through all of it. it is a lot of work, but the weather is getting to the perfect temp for hours outside in the garage.

good luck to you. really.
and welcome to mh.
