2017 Honda Ridgeline Thoughts

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...wd-test-review

Looks like a great compromise for family and hauling. The bed has a built in cooler with drain plug plus 120v power for tailgating.
With the tailgate down, a Sportbike can easily fit. With a low bed height load/unloading shoukd be easier.
0-60mph times of 6.6 seconds very surprising.
For a Honda, the only disappointment I see are 19mpg city is pathetic.
I'm on the fence, my Ford currently has two broken window regulators, tire monitoring system giving errors, and a bunch of other annoyances. Decisions decisions.

Minivan with regular doors and a bed.. I would get a full size truck or wait for the new Ranger/F-100

I really like the Tacomas too, best resale in the truck market.

I'm soured on Ford truck quality. I even got hit with the over torqued spark plug snafu.
We have the same model year Odyssey and that vehicle has been bullet proof.
Not much of a Toyota truck fan after buying the first generation of Tundra. (Brakes/transmission).

19 mpg city is definitely not pathetic for a v6 truck.

I have an older model Ridgeline ('13, 4WD) and love it. My bike fits fine (with the tailgate down) and it has pulled our pop-up many a time with no problems.

They sure are ugly. I saw one pulling a camper the other day and did a double take. The front doesn't look truck like to me, so it's like the front half is a different vehicle from the back half. I liked the looks of the old one much better.

19 MPG is a joke when you consider just about any full size pickup has a model that can achieve that figure or higher. Gets even more embarrassing when you consider the time spent on developing the "brand new" model.

The worst truck on the planet? It's a ford exploder with a bed.

No way, we traded our Exploder in on the Odyssey. The front automatic locking hubs were a disaster.
The Ridgeline would be more of what we need. Think I read, "it's the love child of a F-150 and a Accord". Plus Honda reliability!
Rumor has it that Hyundai is planning a Ridgeline knockoff. Wonder how much cheaper? Hyundai has come a looooong way with reliability.

If I was shopping for a midsize truck, I'd probably be looking at the turbo diesel Colorado or a Tacoma.

I agree

First time I seen the new ridgeline I thought someone had taken an odyssey and cut off the back to have a truck bed

Growing on me. I like the fact it will drive like a car, low step in height, parking will be easy plus I can haul the bike!

Don't come back in here complaining when you have to unload the bike and all of your gear just to change a flat tire. You should go ahead and settle for the ridgeline, there's no need to continue the discussion.
