Hard the see caos when your are way up in the front the whole time.
Uh,
1. The word is chaos.
2. The ride was fine.
3. There may have been a few out of line that I didn't see, but it's your responsibility as a human to say something to someone instead of taking the chicken way out by posting about it. Why didn't you turn around and go home as soon as you saw fog?

You claim you had ridden with Patrick (not Motorcycles Unlimited's Patrick) before. You couldn't say anything to him at the extended stop in Brookshire?

Big difference between group rides and posting BS.

The unfortunate part is too many have too much to say here but say absolutely nothing in person when they see an issue.

Just an observation here but... I've noticed morg invits almost every new person who posts in the intro section to his rides immediately. And you wonder why you attract inexperienced riders? Maybe don't do that... just let whoever wants to come ride post in the respective thread. I don't know, hopefully the new ground rules work for you.

Nothing wrong with doing so as long as the ride leader lays down the ground rules so all riders understand and know what is expected.

Believe it or not the newbies are the best ones...they tell me they want to ride in back...the trouble ones are the ones who go 100 mph in the straights...slam on the brakes cause they cant go around a curve making everyone check up then hammer it out of the turn so they cant pass...

Your rides are well organized.

When you figure out how to operate everyone's bike for them all issues will be solved

Send a message via AIM to Scorpio
I've never been on a random group ride that I've enjoyed very much.
Never had much patience for this type of nonsense.
Be selective on the people you ride with.
Groups bigger than 4-5 should be split up into smaller groups based on skill level / pace.

I think a lot of people are missing the point here. Kieth isn't trying to fix the rides for himself.. he's going to ride regardless. However, he has certain people who go out every weekend, and even some that go out 2 - 3 weekends a month. Everyone of those people have a blast together. I'm going to use natedog here for a second, he was a new rider and was invited from the new rider section, he immediately sat in back, and didn't try to play catchup, this is how a new rider should ride. If he falls, or can't turn, he's affecting no one. On this same note, the people riding, if unhappy should really say something to kieth, and / or the person that's acting a fool. And even if they aren't meaning to act a fool, kindly tell them that you're noticing some things that might cause issues down the line. It might be best if they head towards the back a little.

Their was the guy who posted the video of me trying to pass him last weekend, he wen't into the grass, he's a decent rider, but he needs to not be on these rides until he can understand how to ride in a group, or, to learn his place in line. He passed me in a corner in my lane on the inside, then near wen't off the road when I passed him in another lane completely. People riding don't want to worry about if their normal driving is going to kill someone, it's not fun. So I think the point here is Kieth isn't angry / mad, he's likely a bit annoyed because he's loosing people that used to show up all the time because of , and sorry, the guy that posted the video. He's not the only one, there have been many, he's just one that had some video to post up. No one really " cares " about these inexperienced riders , but as a whole, it's honestly about safety.

Anyhoo.. end rant, moral of the story, new riders are great, so are ones that don't have a lot of seat time, as long as they get to the back, or somewhere they aren't making others feel like it's a chore to watch them. Having to make sure the person in front of you isn't going to run off the road because you're half a mile behind them is a workout. I simply think many people have large ego's and aren't wanting to cope with the fact everyone has to start somewhere.

Although it is not your responsibility Keith I think the number one thing that you can do to benefit everyone in these rides is to have them watch Twist of the Wrist ll. I'll buy the DVD and you can make everybody who hasn't watched it and doesn't have track experience watch it before they ride with the group, although it is an hour and a half and everyone would have to be at your house by 7am. This is the best informative/educational video I've seen on riding. It can only help.
