I have enjoyed each and every ride I have had with Morgstang and co. Hope a few spoiled eggs won't ruin it all for the rest of us. Where else am I gonna get fast sweepers fix :(
You can always come to Brenham and ride with us...there will be far less people who will head out here so it may be easier to control group...we had 7 yesterday and it went very well...

I'm not getting into a debate about this but Bevo is right. As someone who volunteers to sweep anytime I ride with Keith, I can assure you, most of the time there is a large gap between the leader and sweep. In large groups the gap between can be 1/4 to 1/2 a mile or more. Even in small groups it is difficult to keep an eye on everyone. I can usually watch the two to four bikes ahead of me if they are running pace with one another. I have indeed spoken with riders that were riding in a manner I wasn't comfortable with and thought may bring harm to others.
We could all sit here and discuss this till the end of time. The reality is, with rides open to everyone, you are going to get a mixture of riders. Those who can, those who want to but have more to learn, those who can't but still try to, and those who can't and know it and are ok with it.
As a motorcycle community we all need to keep an eye on one another, especially new riders, when riding in groups. When we see something that is a safety issue or could just use some improvement, speak with that person or the group as a whole. If we do this it will hopefully help all of us have longer happier lives on two wheels.

I remember one of the last group rides I went on with MH you brought a tag along, and you had the opportunity to tell him something 3 times that day after he ran off the road 3 separate times riding recklessly. Maybe he listened the 3rd time I didn't stick around after the 2nd time to find out.

Keith, you shouldn't let those few get under your skin. Keep posting the rides and just establish a zero tolerance rule for those that can't follow them. , put a standard disclaimer on all your ride threads that state that very rule. If someone acts like that, they should be left alone to ride and eventually they will learn the hard way.

As for the dingleberry that somehow finds your threads and kicks you when you're down, go yourself and get lost... no one cares to hear about that chip on your shoulder.

I expect to see many ride threads from you Keith! It's great to see that type of activity on here and it gives new members a chance to explore the Texas back roads and meet other members.

These rides are what its all about! Riding, exploring, riding, and having fun!

Keep up the good work bud!

I understand what you are saying, Keith, but think about - the many suffer for the few? When is that ever right. Kind of goes against the grain of what this country is all about.

Not fair to the rest of us.

It's better to bruise an ego. Let them deal with it...or not. Better a bruised ego than a crashed bike no matter how you slice it.

But, I understand what you are saying and why.

You might want to talk to Doug Ward about picking up that torch. He would do a good job. Also, he has an incredible way of telling you that you did wrong without hurting your feelings too much.

If you are presenting yourself as the Pied-Pier of a group ride, and as group leader you should lead by example......Whether it was a big group or a small ride,....
Racing on Public roads is not a good example for others to judge you by. Rewind a couple of years.....How did this Public road race turn out ?....Let's ask Jethro.....You still haven't learned have you..?
.
And now we have you standing up high on your "SoapBox", criticizing others for not being safe riders........
.

My wife and i will continue to ride but wont be going to Waller...anyone wanting to come to Brenham is welcome BUT there will be a different procedure when you come here..i will explain what is expected before you come out..if you dont abide by that when the ride starts you will be asked to leave...
All this is done for the safety of the group so that everyone can enjoy the ride..
Those wanting to attend should PM me for dates and times...
Really didnt want this to happen but when we lose riders who arent enjoying themselves due to others not riding correctly its time to stop...
We've enjoyed doing these rides and hopefully if we could get a resolution we can start again...
Im open to any suggestions you may have...
so have you told these people yet they werent riding properly?
