My Silent Hero

I have a friend of mine that I have known close to a year now. She was a

teacher of mine in college. While in her class we started to build a
friendship that we soon found out would become a very close friendship.
Come
to find out she has some "medical" problems and of course my problems
are
apparent. We have shared several stories of things we struggle with and
how
we pull thru them, stories of our personal lives and whom we have in
them
that are important. And of course we have are goofy stories that we
share
to.

Well very soon after our friendship started she claimed me as her hero
for
how I look at life... I am glad I can be that for her, and I took it in
as a
compliment. I haven't read it yet but she has even written an article
about
me. All and all I am just thankful to have her as part of my life.

A couple of days ago she informed me that she was in the hospital for
some
more surgery. I asked if I could come visit just to see how she was
doing. I
got the O.K. and headed up there. We started to visit and were having a
good
conversation when she got a little woozy. Nurses had to come in and they
and
Lamar (her husband) helped her lay back down. It was nothing serious but
it
made me really realize what all she has to do in her "day-to-day" life.
Very
simple things can be a struggle at times yet she pushes forward and
makes
sure she gets the job done. She never complains, now when something
hurts,
of course, we all do, but she is thankful for her life and what she has
in
it. Today she blew me away, I was in aww.... She was in pain one second
and
then the next she threw that smile back on her face and went on with
life.

We must all be thankful for what we have. Don't complain about the small

things, get over them. Learn to really love life... Love it for
everything,
even that speeding ticket you got last week. Love it because its yours
and
you can make the choice to do whatever you want. Love it for friends
that
when your not expecting it, they show you who you really are. Just love
life.

I just want to say thank you Kim for helping me see something that I
think I
was starting to lose sight of. I can't wait to see what the future has
in
store for you because I know it will be great. You are my Silent Hero

Everyone takes life for granted. I try to be thankful everyday for what I have but it's so hard especially when you're always striving for better and wanting more.

I think everyone should take time out of there day to reflect on their lives and how lucky they are to #1 be alive and have the life that they have.

Good story. Very introspective.

Very long story short, she has a condition that made her brain grow outside her skull a little, they have fixed it as best they can, but she has rods going up and down her neck and spine, a fall in the wrong direction could kill her, but yet she lives life, shes a teacher and a mother of a great little boy, which also means she is a wife. and she lives life

Many find it hard to be so in touch with the things we all feel. Sometimes we need to be reminded of what we take for granted, Thanks for that, again.

Perspective - it IS a whole extra day! You said thank you the previous morning and ended up at tomorrow!

Ok, that might be a little TOO positive even for my happygolucky self... :eh:

She is an amazing woman. There are plenty of people that just give up or get depressed. This kind of makes me issues in like look like nothing.:eh:
But I can say I got a speeding ticket last week, and I am over it.
