The looks are probably more appealing to me than any of the other liter bikes, if they improve on performance (which is pretty much a given) this will be a winner. Curious to see where the price point is.

Soooooo. It is pretty much the same bike!

I think the 04 - 07 1KRR was the best model in 15 years.

Post up again when they actually put something new other than euro headlights on it.

Look again, there are many changes to the bodywork.

As for under the surface, not much is known yet but it was already very capable even though it is under-powered compared to the competition.

Lol! I meant the looks. Bike handles spectacular, for a liter bike it feels narrower like a 600, whereas the r1 feels fat the cbr felt lean

Still hard to believe it's already been nearly 9 years since the last body change.

This one does(at least) look a lot nicer than the old outgoing model.
Kinda looks like an older 04-07 body style, but with an updated(better looking) front end and without the under-tail exhaust.

Ewww no! the 04-05 are weirdly proportioned pigs compared the perfect 954 they replaced. the 06-07's are a nice step up, but still weird.

"17" 1000rr

the real question is the 17 @ $------- a better buy than a 15 or 16 that you will able to pick up at major discounts ... performance wise the difference in capabilities can only be appreciated/utilized by a very few ... bang for the buck would a closeout

Depends on if it's a next generation CBR packed with electronics to help control a new beast. If it is I'm first in line, and I'm a guy that only buys new/old stock

http://www.motorcycle.com/manufactur...000rr-animated

To me, if this animation is a true representation(I didn't look at the real specs), it looks to have smaller wheels(but that could just be race tires), wheel base looks about 1" shorter, tank is 1.5" lower, front fairing is 2" lower, rear seat sits 1" lower, but OAL of bodywork looks the same.

I'd like to see the front on view like this, but from the side it almost looks smaller than the 600.
