Anyone ever shipped a bike?

I'm going to be in Wyoming longer than I thought. How much would it cost me to get my bike shipped 1200ish miles?

Yeah Forward Air are the people to deal with. I took a bike to their place here in town (IAH) and put it in the box they provided and used my own tie downs and it arrived in NY without any problems. I don't remember how much they charged but at the time it was the most competitive price I found.

There are other shipping companies that will pick it up from your doorstep and drive it to the address you want it shipped to and you don't have to get your hands dirty, but it costs more $$$.

forward air is really easy to deal with, just have someone deliver to FA and load up themselves into the crate, lock it with your lock and let em have it, they'll do the rest for you!

when i sold the TZ, i took there, it was $500 from houston to buffalo NY

What is the bike? I'll ride it to you if it is something comfortable, you pay gas and the plane ticket back. Probably still run you the 400-500 though.

Air shipped is the only way to go. It cost around $400-$500 but you get it FAST. Other method of shipping at least 3 days for almost the same price.

Depending on the bike, half of that is an awesome ride! If the bike is a crotch-rocket that's gonna suck, but if it is a sport tourer it would be awesome.

First half sucks: go west, cross texas you are going to want to do this fast-maybe even at night.
Second half kicks : Go north through the rockies!!!
