Choices have consequences, and I support the freedom of choice. I'd never ride without ATGATT, but you can do what you want!

We should have the choice as adults to make our own decisions. This one was his and he lost his life over it. It should still be our choice..

Why are we mandating helmets for riders? Dont you guys realize the idiot riders that make us look bad don't wear helmets? Let them crash and die, more road for the rest of us with a brain to protect.

And that's kinda up about the Darwin Award, he was wearing a helmet.

thank goodness at least a few on this thread read the article. Just because you want the OPTION of wearing a helmet doesn't mean you HAVE to wear a helmet.

I think it should be illegal to wear helmets.
It's illegal to lane split - - so everyone wants to do it.

man im surprised all you houston riders dont consider the aggregate costs of avoidable traffic delays. Millions of man-hours, EMT and police services, wreckers, etc.

Ive been down 4 times (smashed into a deer at 90+ http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=327533, low sided at TWS (Texas World Speedway), etc) and only the F250 that ran over me necessitated medical attention. Witnessed 50+ wrecks myself, no deaths- no catastrophic injuries save a broken pelvis, only 3 ambulance rides, and cops two of those times.

Im certainly a lucky SOB. But are the 30+ guys I know thatve been down all that lucky too? Maybe. But they were all wearing their gear too.

Freedom to choose is cool and all, but now whats up with Seatbelt laws?

If suppose morbid irony is the headline goal...perhaps CNN should have a run with the following:

"Man who knew of attack on the World Trade Center dies in attack on World Trade Centers after taking job as head of security there folloiwing a forced resignation from his role as head of FBI counter terrosim because the state department favored keeping relations with Yemmen over routing out the plotters of the attack."

I know it's off topic tangent, just on my mind again recently ... but kind of crappy of CNN and everyone else for jumping to conclusions here. Nothing funny about it. RIP.

You're not saying that CNN jumped to conclusions are you?

I guess they could have written this headline:

"Lawmaker/Motorcycle advocate dies in motorcycle crash"

Question, what injury "killed" him?

Would the helmet have made a difference?

BTW, I'm "pro choice" on helmet and seat belts....

Seriously? Not only do you not read the article, you can't read the thread either?
