Biker Shoots Deputy

Broward Sheriff's Deputy Shot In Head
BSO Spokeswoman Says Deputy In 'Grave Condition'

POSTED: 12:03 pm EDT August 6, 2007
UPDATED: 2:22 pm EDT August 6, 2007

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. -- A Broward Sheriff's Office deputy was shot in the head Monday in the 3700 block of Pembroke Road.

BSO spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright said a plain-clothes deputy working with the selective enforcement team was conducting a traffic stop shortly before noon when the motorcyclist got off the vehicle, ran from the deputy, then turned and shot him.

"I was driving by and I saw the officer on the (ground)," one witness told Local 10's Glenna Milberg. "He was bent over with his face in the grass, and you could just see the pain in his face."

a 22 in the head is far my effective then most 9mm because it only has the energy to go in once side bounce of the back wall of your skull and effectively making your brain a scrambled egg

what gun would not kill a person that was shot in the face? (other than the obvious BB-gun) I would assume the co was fairly close to the rider (like 20 feet), so wouldn't most sized handguns but someone on their death bed??

yeah i've heard the theory about a .22 'bouncing around inside of you'... is this really true? I guess I assume that the wound was not very deep, and thus assuming that it was a small gun. :dontknow:

...and yes I do know what happens when you assume...

I dunno i dont believe everything the media says either.
thats what I said also, if he would have stayed at the scene, he could have gotten away with it stating fear.

the cop should not have pulled him over with no uniform on.
Hope he recovers, head shot w/ a 45 doesnt sound good at all.

my cousin got shot once with a 22 in the chest, it bounced around inside and they ended up having to cut him open from his throat to his belly button and repair all the tore up organs, it zipped around and pinballed inside and near hit every vital organ.
He stayed up fighting for 2 minutes, then went down. its not a knock down round, but very deadly none the less
