I guess I live in a fantasy world where everyone gets along regardless of what they ride. A world where it doesn't matter what you're riding because we all share a passion for being on two wheels.
To buy into any one brand and shunning the rest is like wearing blinders. You miss out on the beauty and amazement the world of motorcycles offers.
I don't pretend to believe that Harleys and metrics, or cruisers and sport bikes will ever live in harmony.
But why not? It's about life on two wheels and nothing else should matter.

well to be fair the 600 should get a nice soup'd up kit shouldn't they?

dude I am cool that. when i have a problem is when harley owners think they are faster than stock metrics. If you want putt around on a harley and make bunch of racket that is cool. Just don't brag that they are competitive because they are not... but I really wish they would be but I think harley won't get in the 22 century because the owners like that sound they make with the antiquated push rods.

Neighbor has 2 Harleys. No idea which years or models. Over 60k miles on both (he traded a 100k+ mile bagger in on a ~62k mile anniversary edition full dress), and he swears none have been in the shop for any engine work or other mechanical issues. Only routine service done by the dealership.

I'd never own one and I'm not sure if his experience is a fluke, but it's definitely got me thinking that HD might make more reliable bikes than some of the stories have led me to believe.

Ive seen a couple with 100k on them and had heard from the service dept i used that it wasnt as uncommon as i thought. The bikes are better than they used to be but people wont let the oil leaking stigma pass and give them a chance

i ride a harley because i like to punish myself. but also does vibrate my just right. has a similar effect on women as well.

no but really, a well sorted dyna or fxr is plenty of fun. and you dont have to go a million mph to enjoy it. and i do share the same sentiment about har-tards. my dad is one and i give him for it constantly.

I can pull the brand new mustang stick shift from a dig or from a roll up to 120mph GPS top speed of 138 mph and have beat many a gsxr 0 to 60. At 490 pounds 110 hp and me pulling gears at 145 pounds it's a lot of fun. Ask magic man when how I ride or hung with sport bikes all night going to and from a central meet. Don't doubt the little sporty. Come to hmp and get the other lane. I'm at 120,000 miles too btw with a 5,000 mile top end. Never been on the side of the rode broke down before either!

I have never had a problem with any Harley guys. I can go to Yankees and be the only sport bike there and have plenty of those guys talk to me about my bike. Some of the coolest guys I have met on the road were on Harleys, and most of the douchebags I have met on the road were sport bike riders.

Those guys have a love for their bikes and the history of HD. They have a bond us sport guys will never have because everyone is too worried about how fast they can go or who's bike is cooler. Pretty sad we can't all be like that and accept we all like to ride for the same reason....
