I still ride harley's and every time I get on a harley i'd rather wear my beanie helmet than a full face. But when I get on a sport bike or anything else, it's full face and full gear.

I respect Harley Heritage and what it used to stand for, people understood that.

You yet to realize that people who wreck or get hurt are still people like you, they just made a mistake. Everyone has family and it actually bothers me that people laugh at them. Recently we had 2 accidents that we've spoke about on our forums and no one flamed them for not buying better helmets or wearing full gear. I know some Harley guys are dicks, but sport bikes have their own dicks too ....

Feel free to post after this and flame all you want, I wont acknowledge it.

just my 2 cents.

big question here and no need to flame but, what is the diference between a harley and a sportbike? talking about gear?

why ppl wear full gear on a sportbike and not on a harley?

u r going down in both the same way, and u r going to get hurt in both the same way

i dont see the diference, other than i want ppl to see my face in a harley

just makes no sense both are motorcycles

To ME it's different, I dont ride a harley and go 80 mph cruising speed, or hit the twisties goin 100+. I'm lucky if I go 5 miles of the speed limit while i'm cruising on my harley. On my sportbike I bury the throttle and dig in .....

A person who is experienced and knowledgeable can control his or her fate on the highway. You should be able to prevent 99% of the accidents that could occur to you during one ride. (always there's that fateful nail in the road that hits your front tire and it explodes).

I dont ride my harley to 'show off' or 'be accepted'. If that was my intentions i'd like up a cig while cruising ( i dont smoke) and have a beer on a custom made cup holder (i dont drink).

I ride bikes for the experience, sportbikes is for speed, harley is for ... well enjoying the atmosphere. (yes you can do that on a sportbike, but for me it's not the same)

(i'm just trying to honestly contribute my 2 cents, call me whatever you wish it won't effect me, it will just show me your ignorance)

POW/MIA flags... that dude prolly served in 'nam, survived bullets flying over his head, grenades, mortars etc only to be taken out by a 5mph fall, 3 foot tall pony.
