anyone know of a lexus specialist?!?!?!?

my pops car (96 lexus SC400) has some problems and i've exhausted all of my knowledge that i can to try and help.

does anyone know someone who really KNOWS Lexus's. I would rather take it to someone who would know common problems and solutions for these cars rather than some general mechanic who will just guess and check each problem at $100 an hour

well basically what the problem is is that it will not idle. It seems like the engine is continually searching for a steady RPM. I mean it revs oncea a second from 1200-2000 RPM. I first thought it was the MAF sensor so i waited a week with no car (dad borrowed mine) and the part came in, put it on. NOT A LICK ON DIFFERENCE

I had a mechanic run a full ECU diagnostic and he found nothing. The car shows no codes unless you unhook something. The only way the car will idle is if i disconnect the MAF. Then it idles at about 1100rpm (which about 800 is what it should be). It THEN shows a code, basically the code for "malfuntion at MAF".

Ive taken off the TP sensor, IACV, and a few other things and cleaned them with intake and carb cleaner with no change.

Ive been F*ckin with this POS for over a week now and im F'in tired of it.

I think there is a place called Hunt's on Hwy 3 that is closer. Don't have experience with them though. There was also a shop behinf Almeda Mall (close to the Popeye's Chicken). A mechanic there was the brother of a girl I went to school with...been by there a long long time ago and he had a lot of toyotas and a couple lexus. Sorry but it it was from the opposite side of the pond I would be able to help more.

sounds like you have a vaccume leak. could be from one of the vaccume lines or from one of the intake gaskets anywhere past the maf sensor.
