New to track days

Is there a MH group that attend trackdays regularly or do you all just go solo and do your own thing? The only bikers I know are those I've met at several group rides (from MH). I would like to start spectating and participating in trackdays to get more experienced. However I'd feel more comfortable if there were a group of people who I could learn from on a regular basis. I know very little about track days so before I attend and make a fool out of myself. Where should I begin? Anyone looking for a track day buddy?

I'll probably only be spectating to begin with because I want to be more familiar with the whole track day experience. Also I do not have a way to trailer my bike to the track right now.

Thanks.

i'm usually at most of the trackdays, besides ridesmart trackdays, but you'll figure that one out for yourself.

there's always a roll call posted up for each trackday that comes near. try out MSRH with Longhorn Motorcycle School, PM buck beasley for more info. ask anybody that attends trackdays with Buck's days....you'll know it's like home there. roll solo, or with some buddies.....but with buck's days....you'll feel like home.

Come on out to the LSTD @ MSR Cresson and see what it's all about.
Then stay for the Endurance on Saturday and the Sprints on Sunday.

Within this website - at the top - Click on " Forum Home" then scroll down to Longhorn Motorcycle School. Read up on "How to sign up for private track days, and most importantly look at the Calendar/Schedule for 2007. Pick any day you want and come out and watch/meet some folks. Look for any of the following: Buck // Alonzo // Derek // Jason. Buck is "da man" and the other guys I listed are a few of his "generals". All nice guys, and can tell you how to get started. If you have not ridden on a track Buck may want you to start on one of the days known as "NOOB" days. They are not as often as regular days - everthing fills up quick, so watch the "open date" and follow the instructions on how to sign up - it's basically - email Buck - he does not accept pm's here on this site as sign up info. His phone is also listed should you have any trouble signing up. Oh and NO Yamaha's are allowed - only Honda"s J/K ---- CAUTION: You are about to enter a very addictive world - proceed with care!!

i'm on the same boat. i'm wanting to do trackdays but limited to mondays which there are only a few... but the races are fun to go to. if you can go to cresson it's about 3.5 hours from here, i'm sure you would enjoy it a lot. when they do the trackdays in angleton def sign up cause it's real close and everyone seems to have a good time. so when do you want to try that early morning ride again? hopefully it won't last all day next time haha.

When the radar says 0% rain. Nah, I've been waiting to make sure the weather would be good. I'm also working on refining the route to make it longer than my initial route. When Dan/BJ and I rode it that afternoon it seemed just a tad bit short. I think we can run up to 3090 and come down which should add about another 30 minutes or so. I'll see if anyone's interested for tomorrow.

the 8/12 day will be a slow day so you can expect that pace when you start.
