so...... is that really that worth being scattered out like that? i think that a place that has tables and more of a resturaunt atmosphere would be a better place to eat and meet and socialize, just my 2cents.....

I dont mind really where we meet, I just wish it wasn't on the north side, but i'm mostly b****ing cause as I was purchasing my bike, everyone was already headed up there, and I had to get used to it before I zipped through downtown on still partially wet pavements to meet people I've never spoke to in my life

Do you have any other recommendations?

I wasn't able to attend due to prior commitments but I definitely want to attend the next Motorcycles Unlimited gathering. I'm not familiar with many restaurants that have the space to accomodate a table for 60+. Maybe an alternative option would be to meet at a park and have someone cater the event at the park.

Ex. Here in The Woodlands at North Shore Park (the park by the woodlands lake). It has a wide open field area, lots of picnic bench's (covered) with plenty of room to accomodate that many people. Everyone's there to eat and meet so $X per plate it could be BBQ or something easy. There would be plenty of room for people to roam and meet others. - This may not be the best option while it is steaming hot outside but when it gets cooler it could work.

I agree about the seating, but Hooters and it's manager at that location helped us out quite a bit. I think we have to give some props to the manager for bringing on certain waitresses and setting up parking accommodations, etc. It's not their fault that there was not enough room for our ginormous group of hot sweaty motorcycle riders. As I said, it's not that I'm disagreeing with you, but it sounds like the hooters peeps needed some positive representin' ...and yes, hopefully your brainstorm will result in another bad meet & greet!

yeah i agree but even if they plan something to have more seating for us , even more will start showing and we will be spread out though the whole place, thats why i think we should think of a better place to meet n greet that can seat our whole group accordingly

This was the first time at that Hooters for a meet like this; I don't think they were quite ready for the turn out. They bent over backwards to cater to us bikers, so maybe give them a chance and see?

To be blunt, we ended up with more of a small rally than a met & greet. I seriously doubt anyone expected the numbers we showed up in. Shortage of tables aside (and mad props to the waitstaff who i'm sure where ready to climb the walls trying to keep up with everyone) I think the setup allowed for more freedom of movement then we'd find with one or two large/long tables.
(anyone thats been on the la hacienda meets have any thoughts?)
