TxTAG placement

Got tired of the big HCTRA tag for MC's and the cost to buy one. I lost the first one soon after I got it and I'll be damned if I didn't lose the 2nd one the same day I got it. Since then I've just been making them read the plate. But I wanted to get one for the new bike.

So I signed up for a TxTag (its free with autopay) over the interwebz. And today I received it in the mail. It's the style for the windshield in a vehicle.

I'm curious who else has one and where did you put it?
And how much water can it stand up to?
I'm thinking that I might stick it under the rear seat or just keep it in my pocket. Or if it's water resistant I might stick it up front under the cowling.

Should have just made them read the plate. Those cameras are out quite often and you wouldn't be getting charged.

In the garage, like the ez tag. They can read the plate and charge accordingly.

bingo. put that sticker in the top of your tool box in the garage. if they can read the plate then they'll draft your account. if not, that's their problem

BS. Bevo would have recommended a pack. All your posts are now suspect.

Actually mine is in the tail of my bike. Some toll exits may still have gates which are opened by the transponder.

To answer your question:
Quote:
Can motorcycles use TxTag stickers?
Motorcycles use a different type of TxTag than those used on cars and trucks. If you have a motorcycle, you may request a motorcycle tag online or by phone. The charge for a motorcycle tag includes a refundable deposit.

I've got a piece of trim right below the seat that pops on and off pretty easy to access the battery, I stuck it on the inside of the panel, have yet to have any problems with it being read. I dont believe it sees a whole bunch of water, but I've rode in the rain and washed it without removing the panel. And like Bevo said, if you come across an exit with the gate arm, without a tag read it wont open.

That's what I've been doing for the last 2 or 3 yrs. since I lost the last box, but I wanted to open a TXtag account instead of HCTRA. And since I only use the TR's like 2 or 3 times a month. I don't mind paying.

Yea that's what I'm leaning towards. Till I do decide I'll just keep it in my pocket.

Plus mine is loose, so I can easily transfer it to a new bike

I have the travel box and I keep it in my jacket pocket all the time. I always wear my jacket, when I'm on my bike, so I never loose it.
