When I was at the gap the 3 times I have been in both the car and bike, I had that almost happen on every time I took it. Cars in my lane head on, bikes...its nuts. So many people riding over their heads. I prefer Arkansas.

I was in western NC a few days ago and I always stay away from the popular roads. Too many people in accidents from OTHERS crossing over just like this. there are a million roads just as nice but with LESS traffic in western NC to ride.

I feel very sorry for the passenger as she really got some height out of that accident. Luckily it looks like the HD rider went over on the other side of the bike impact and hopefully got to keep his leg.

Again - basic riding skills are missing -
He could have easily bunny hopped his way out of that one and went right over the HD.
If you can't bunny hop - sell..... That's what I always say.

Piff. Bunny hops are for beginners. He should have locked up the front, lifting the rear and swinging it around, avoiding the bike. Then, when the rear hits, lock the rear so the front lifts and swings it back around and continue riding.

That's what I would have done.

So, you picked up all of this from a still image?

Let's say he was experienced... would an experienced rider A- ride over his head and cross the double yellow -and- B- attempt to correct the issue by taking a crossed up body position -and- C- target fixate on the place he does not want to go?

Either way, this is old. I am pretty sure it happened a couple years ago when I was still living in NC. Hopefully the douchebag ST rider hung his ICON helmet for good.

Sure looks like target fixation to me from his head position. Not saying that was the initial cause, but it sure didn't help him out once he focused on the other bike instead of the corner.

Who cares if it is or isn't. Two things:

1. Don't run wide
2. Vehicles will run wide

But it's not his fault, crossing the line or not.
From the first pic you can easily tell the the HD rider is at his wits end listening to the fargin whining and complaining and constant naggin from his bisch on the back. Just look at his face! He's totally in rider's haze and he's only thinking about how long it's going to take until the next gas stop so he can ditch the broad.

He's just not paying attention. It's his responsibility to pay attention. I'll bet he's on his 3rd or 4th murder fantasy already.
