The cop did not know he had a warrant before putting him in cuffs. Basically the dude was asking what he had done wrong and the officer was being a complete to him. The discussion became heated and the cuffs came out. The officer is a complete . I am convinced some dude on a bike fvcked his girlfriend so now he has a vendetta against all bikes.

But, and this is the bottom line.

By being there, on that night, he put himself in a spot to be picked on. With a warrant. Maybe the cop was wrong to single him out, but it all would have ended happy if he had just done the no sir, yes sir thing.

Especially if "everyone" knows this cop is a , why give him anything at all to jump on?

We used to go thru this years ago in the old street racing days. Cops would show up and people would run everywhere and haul . And we would just be chilling out, sitting on a fender, waiting on the cops to do their thing so we could move on.

And the same would go on, when someones bud got hauled off on a warrant or weapons violation, about how the man was picking on us.

Said it then, and I'll say it now...

DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by no means am i cause he got arrested, or even for that matter...just gettin alot of the facts straight.

as for the officer comin up and running plate and vin...good that i dont have a problem with its the harrasment with us just cause we are on bikes. example a couple weeks ago he wrote a guy a ticket cause his rear tire was on stripes next to parking spot he was in, but the car that pulled up and parked in the handy cap spot with no permit he did nothing for. he noticed it and it was pointed out just incase he didnt. but its whatever, he is a little man with a badge, not much you can do about it so...ya

It's the joy of hunting down bikers that run. Just give him the opportunity to be trigger happy.

Sure there is.

Go someplace else on Weds nights
Make sure your stuff is in order if you DO go to SB on bike night
Don't do illegal turns, park outside of marked spots, or any of the other kazillion things that have been mentioned in these threads (dancing in the street in traffic comes to mind)

When (understand it is not IF) the cops pick on the evil bikers, be polite and don't give him back his attitude.

One day if you guys are lucky, he will pick on someone with a squeaky clean record that gave him no reason, and get sued. But it sounds like he is smarter than the group and picks his victims pretty well.

I wonder what he would do if all of a sudden all bikes on 1960 were in back of trucks, and we all became super-squids driving around showing off our bikes in the back of our trucks. Would he still pull people over with such vengence?

Are they allowed to enter private property (the parking lot) and start writing down license plate numbers??

I'd just stay away for awhile. Make sure that you have all your papers in order if you do go up there. And make sure to have a Starbucks cup in your hand if you're hanging out there, at least you'll look like a customer and not just someone hanging out.

It's only considered private if access is controlled, otherwise it is a public parking lot and they have just as much right to roll thru as anyone.

If they felt like rolling thru a neighborhood and running plates on cars sitting in driveways, think they can? :confused2

Hmmm. If they were rolling through a neighborhood then they'd be on a public street, even if the cars weren't.

I have a problem with cops rolling through parking lots writing down license plate numbers. Just doesn't sound right to me.

The cops name is officer wyn and the only reason why he hates us is because of some of the squids that come by and do stupid and they run from him afterwards, so he takes it out on everyone.

Considering the high amount of recent bike thefts it doesn't bother me that they're checking plates. If your 's straight why would there be an issue?
