They are pretty bullet proof other than an occasional FI light. Mine has a very intermittent knock sensor code that will show the light one or two rides in 800-1000 miles. No performance issues that are noticeable. I really like the linked brakes, the heavy beast stops on a dime.

the cct will need to be changed if it hasn't been done already. '97-98 were carb, '99-'03 are efi. Birds are big, smooth, all day comfortable, plenty fast and hammer reliable.
