Are you looking at the 07 or the earlier version?

I don't know much about the new one but I've had an 03 for about a month. I like mine a lot. The power delivery is smooth as long as I am. It gets a bit buzzy above 7k when the power really starts to come on. The bike feels very planted in the corners. The bikini fairing provides ok wind deflection at legal highway speeds, a bit above that the wind blast can be pretty strong.

The new one are supposed to be pretty sick, but that exhausticon_puke:icon_puke. If you get the new you must get a new exhaust system or ban. . Sweet bikes though

they are definatley a different riding style but yet still comfortable. the wind protection is definately lacking but still tolerable. In all a real fun bike to ride. can usually find them really decently priced too!

Look awesome but think I would get the new FZ1 instead now that they have sorted the fueling issues.

Sport Rider didn't give the new Z1000 very good reviews. The chassis is not up to the improvements in the motor, and they said it is still a bit buzzy above 7 or so. Brakes were good, riding position good, just a little softly sprung and damped for "spirited" riding.

But a nekkid bike shoot out is coming in the next couple months.

I had a 05 r.i.p vans lol. Anyways man great all around bike it loves to corner, slow top end, I would just add pipes and your power commander and it will run. Like everybody else said the wind blows on it feels like your going to fly off the bike at 100 +

I believe the wind protection is even less than what I have on the Rex, but I bet the the z1000 would look great without the bikini fairing and a dual headlight setup - something farly small like the buell lights.
