Question Blown engine (rod in contact with head)

Anyone know of a mechanic (with a machine shop) who can fix a blown engine for a 2012 Kawasaki ZX14R?

Try calling Kawasaki of Pasadena. The service manager is one of the best mechanics I've ever known. His name is Ron.
If he can't help you, I'll bet he knows who can

Thanks. I'll call them Tuesday. Mancuso is trying to charge me 10 grand from a rebuild.

Depending on how bad the head is we can fix it.
If the cylinder head is badly damaged then it may need to be replaced. I may have a good used one here.
Bring it by and we can check it out.

I picked up the engine from Mancuso already. The engine is in two crates. I am clueless on what you need to to look at so I'd have to bring you the two crates they gave to me. The chassis is in storage. I can call you this Tuesday to make arrangements to bring it to your shop if that's cool.

10k? . I'd buy a salvaged engine way before that . 10k better be forged pistons and rods and make 220 hp at least lol

There has always been ZX oiling issues back to the old ZX10 / ZX11 / ZG1000 / ZRX1100/1200 models . Have a nice listen to a gen 1 ZX14 as it rattles on start up .
No oil pressure to cam chain tensioner . 9 out of ten 1100 cases I have split have not had the oiling hole for crank match the main bearing .
Good luck sir . FYI a Ebay engine might be better than a rebuild as parts/labor add up
quick .

Throw it in and be done with it.

$10k for a rebuild is insane...
