why do you ride?

was just sittin here working and sweating my off at work, and thought to myself.....this is why i enjoy riding. i would say street or track, but i'm just gonna say track. it's my own time away from it all, a place to relax, a place to enjoy myself, and a place where i could call my home away from home. why didn't i say street? because sometimes my SO rode with me 2up on the streets......and the track, i'm alone in my own world.

that's why i ride.....the freedom, the carelessness, the self fulfillment.

I'm right there with you Tony. It's nice just to get out, turn the phone off, and let myself go if even for only a few hours.

Because it is a form of freedom that cannot be described to people that do not ride. I don't ever want to be someone that saids "I wish I could" "I want to" etc. I do it because it is something I have always wanted to do, yearned to do. I still get excited when I know I am going out on my bike.

Plus with meeting the people on this forum makes it even more fun. I can honestly say this forum contains more quality individuals than I have ever met on any other forum.

Ever since I saw a motorcycle/dirtbike as a kid I always wanted to ride. Parents would not allow it, so I grew up and saved and did it on my own. Not rebelliously, but independently. I don't care if I ride with people or solo, if I'm riding I'm happy. It feels so good to be out riding. We all know how this feels; whether we ride a sportbike, a HD, a Goldwing, or a dualsport. We all know how it feels and we all love it. As was stated earlier, "it's a feeling that can't really be described."
