LeBron James will not play in Olympics
The United States men's Olympic basketball team will reportedly not include LeBron James among others.
According to cleveland.com, James informed USA basketball he intends to skip the summer games in Rio.
James and the Cavaliers just won game seven of the NBA finals on Sunday to bring a championship to Cleveland for the first time since 1964.
James joins a growing list of marquee players to decline their invitation to be a part of the 2016 Olympic team.
San Antonio's Kawhi Leonard and Utah's Gordon Hayward also confirmed today they will not be a part of the team.
The original roster of Olympic hopefuls including 31 players, but 12 of them have already declined to remain included on the list for the final roster.
That list includes, James, Leonard, Hayward, LaMarcus Aldridge, Steph Curry, Damian Lillard, John Wall, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and Anthony Davis.
Rockets guard James Harden also said earlier this offseason that he would not be participating in Olympic play this summer, either.
Raptors guard Kyle Lowry, who was not on the original list of 31, has reportedly accepted an invitation to be on the 2016 team.
The final roster is expected to be announced in the next ten days.
