Daily Craig: Please remove your caps

With the Astros win they find themselves in unique company. It took them more than 70 games to get one over .500. The same place they were after just 2 games of this season. Now they are 73 games in and boom, one over .500. No other sport makes a big deal of the .500 thing. Football, hoops, hockey, soccer, boxing, none of them like to brag about being just one better than mediocre.

As of the writing of this and the saying of it a tad later, only three teams in major league baseball were ONE OVER. The Astros, Tigers, and Mariners. American league all. That did, however, change overnight and lo and behold, the Astros are alone. DETROIT BEAT SEATTLE and only Houston is one over. The boys are IN KC and hope to grind out a two or three over before noticing the Rangers are 21 over. However, second in the AL WEST might be good enough as it was last season.

On this throwback day I can say without question I am really tired of the VW spot with the Basset hound flapping his jowls. If I have seen it once, it's been 20 times or maybe 30 since it has run constantly during coverage of COPA AMERICA. I know most of you didn't watch but I like to think it wasn't soccer that bothered you but VW spending a fortune to sponsor the tourney but only producing one commercial. I could use a new car or maybe a new dog. But stop with the flapping jowls spot. I will hang up and listen.
