Solracer's Super Awesome ADVENTURE Hill Country Ride 2016.3

As some of you know, I'm planning on leading another trip out on another one of my "adventure rides". This will be the 3rd and final ride of this year.

***What to expect on this ride***

How much: The entire trip should cost less than $200 if you split gas/trailer and hotel. The includes all fuel for truck and bikes and food.

How many miles? : Roughly 530 miles, 14.5 hours over the 2 days. We make several stops for food, gas, and photos.

This gives you an idea of where we will be riding.

Screenshot 2016 03 18 10 41 54 zpsj29zwcad

What should you expect? : All kinds of roads. long and swoopy, narrow and tight, water crossings (you may drive through water), cattle guards, sweet jumps(you WILL catch air), and some gravel. You should also expect beautiful scenery.

Pace: I'd call it intermediate, you may call it something else.... This isn't for new riders, this is more suited for guys who know their bike and limits. These guys aren't afraid to get a little dirty and have some fun. Cops aren't an issue except in one town which we wouldn't be hauling anyhow.

Your motorcycle: Should be well maintained and in good running condition. I prefer it could do at least 100, but not really necessary. Stretched Busa's would NOT have fun on this ride. I've had all kinds of bikes go on these rides and most everyone has a great time. (I used to lead with a Ninja 500r.) Tires and chain should be in good condition.

What weekend in September works best for everyone?

September 9,10,11 or
September 23,24,25 ?

If the weather doesn't cooperate with us (Rain), we will go in October.

We will leave after work on Friday and stay the night in Austin on Friday night, Ride Saturday and Sunday. Return home Sunday evening.

I'll be in San Marcos on the weekend of the 23rd. UH vs. Texas State. Already booked.

Weekend of Sept 9, 10, 11 is against Lamar at home. Lamar? Should be a gimme, so I voted this weekend. Anyone want the tickets?

Why September and not October? I remember a hill country ride we did in October back in the day and it was still hot as Hades. I'll probably pencil in both weekends in for now, but for the hoping of cooler weather I opt to pick the latter.

Good question.
IMO, weather is historicaly better (for me anyhow) in September rather than Oct. Less chance of it being too cold and less chance of rain. Study last years weather....

Also, as stated in the original post, if rain is forecast for the September weekend, we will plan on going in Oct. However, if we plan only for Oct and rain happens, well, thats that.

Why does it have to be on motorcycles? Can't we each ride in our very own car?

I can't see your pics, but I take your word for it. I don't melt. Mentioned it to the wife last night (3 months in advance) so now she has to be good with it. Gonna try and get Bean on the wagon...and definitely gonna trailer out there this go 'round.

hmmmm....My Ultra (HD touring bike) will do 100 although its not a ton of fun at that speed. But since you're doing twisties this could be fun to chase. (also have a 2 bike trailer that we could squeeze 3 bikes on to.)

I was actually just riding that area in Canyon lake, Jacobs well, hamilton pool this weekend.

Northwest Austin (basically "B" on that map),on Saturday morning. KSU around 8am. Depends on where we all stay, if we all stay at the same motel, then we will start from there.
