Broken Collarbone Picture

I got the CD from College Station so I can show the pics to my orthopedic guy. Nice clean break of the left clavicle. The bump can be seen easily from the outside.

collarbone 1

Update so far:

Surprisingly, the clavicle doesn't really hurt all that bad. If I sit still, pain is minimum. The "ouch, shouldn't have done that!" moments are getting a few less. At least some improvement.

Foot still hurts worse than anything. I am doing all I can to make it heal quick but it is a slow progress. Family doc only had a referral to a plastic surgeon for skin graphs in mind. :BangHead:

Back with the chipped bone hurts a bit and gets more and more sore from having to lay on my back when sleeping. I try to rotate to the right but that is even more uncomfortable. Hydrocodone at night has become a ritual. Can't take it during the day, it makes me fall asleep within 15 min.

Bike hasn't gotten looked at yet. Adjuster and I are constantly playing phone tag. From what folks tell me, she may get totalled.

Status of mind: Tired of the pain and every day the same old . Getting more and more mad. Senseless act of stupidity. !

In case you are wondering how this happened and missed the thread:

You must not be medicating yourself properly if you are already tired of the pain.

You need to get in touch with the radiology department, fax them a release and they'll send it to you.

But be prepared, you'll see things inside of you, you never wanted to see.

The catscan pics were interesting though.

The meds don't really help either. I want that stuff that he gave me in the hospital, Man, that felt good!
Hydrocodone makes me drowsy like heck and doesn't take the pain away too much, I found out that 4 Advil work a bit better but nothing takes away the pain in the dang foot. It is really just the foot that is constantly throbbing and just plain hurtful. Icing it helps a bit.

So, I only take some hydrocodone at night so I can sleep. I love my kidneys too much to be pumping them full of meds :icon_bigg

Ya meds don't help after you are use to taking them. I just had to live with the pain till it got better. But I believe that the road rash was the worst of it all over the chip bones and the three plates and 17 pins. When you can't sleep that stuff will jut drive you crazy

How will this affect your arm/shoulder movement after it's healed up?

Hydrocodone sucks. You are definetly better off just taking about 4 Advil. Drink plenty of water.

If you feel like you have been taking to many pills and you want to clean up your system you can take some gold seal pills from GNC but like the other guy said just make sure you drink alot of water

when I broke my collarbone I was looking at my x-rays and could see all the metal anchors from my shoulder surgery...it looked pretty cool i thought. my broken collarbone didn't affect any movement, but my shoulder is still and probably never will be 100%, but i can just tell when the weather will change...ya, and the hydrocodone/vicodin makes me groggy and thirsty, and makes me very spaced out...great for rainy days when all I have to do is watch band of brothers all day long.

I am used to work out in the gym, so we'll see how that will work in the future. My upper arm strength has been ridiculous as is. NOW I got an excuse. :icon_bigg

Seriously, I was wondering the same about the future of my shoulder. Looks like the bone is supercrooked and it is just left that way. :eh:

I can't believe you came back to the track the same day. Take your vitamins and heal up so you can find another bike.

I have a great orthopedic surgeon in The Woodlands if you need someone to go to......he did my shoulder surgery a few years ago.

What numbers are on the bottle of HydroC's? There are different doses and that makes a huge difference.

I was told I seemed pretty out of it and was in a 'loopy' state of mind. I seriously wanted to go back though and watch the other riders but my better half knew better.

Thanks!

No, the guy didn't get booted off the track. Long story but read the rest of the thread if you are interested and you'll understand. :eh:
