cold leak from water pump 08 Versys

I'm getting 2-3 drops of coolant coming out of the little weep hole in the water pump housing when I start it.

I'm guessing the thing to do is replace all the seals, Orings and gaskets in there...

Is there anything else I should look at?

any other suggestions/ideas?

thanks

On my '07 650r I had the same problem...
oil started dripping from the weep hole below the water pump.
I replaced the seals... 2x.
the problem kept coming back.
the cause was the balancer shaft, which had a factory machining defect/error (noted on a repair bulletin) that kept ruining the oil seal. Luckily the bike as still covered under the warranty and the replacement of the balancer shaft was covered. The dealer had to split the cases.

I hope that just switching the seals will work for you.

Impeller and oil seals. Never happened to my '12 model but, have seen it posted on the versys owners' forum a few times. Read this thread:

Normally I get this done faster but I managed to sever a vein on my index finger and it bleed like crazy. NO ins so no stitches. Used superglue. Worked ok till I scratched it off in my sleep and proceeded to bleed all over the house. I had taken an ambien and was pretty much asleep. Wife found me standing at the kitchen sink staring at the bleeding finger. Oh well I needed to donate some blood anyway.

Anyway, I'm paranoid about what to use to press the mechanical seal in and out of the water pump housing.

FSM calls for bearing driver and oil seal driver.

I have a socket I could use to tap it out that's about it. Mabye a C clamp to press it back in?
