thats not cool. its not cheating but a lack of sportmanship and thats something these games are supposed to enforce.

We used to run a similar play, but our QB (me) would say to the d linemen that they were offsides and that it was a 5 yd penalty, i'd say "gimme that ball", center hiked it to me (legal) and i proceeded to walk my 5 yds, then take off like a bat outta . usually got us like 30 yds or so :P the opposinig coaches hated us for it. we'd also do the "wall", where we'd line up everyone except me, center, and a halfback all the way to one side. that one worked for a long time cuz the D didn't know whether to line up on the rest of the team or stay w/ us 3

That's it ... teach 'em to teach at a young age.

I coach little league softball and I'm telling you that something like that wouldn't fly. The refs/umps would call a time out.

Pretty funny though.

First time we did it, I scored a TD and the back ump called TD, while the line ump was like "wtf." They conferred, the hike was legit by the rules, TD stands. Looking back on it, yea, it's kinda shady, but we were like 12 at the time and wanted to win district dammit :P
