Got another mini...

Went during lunch on Monday and picked up a Yami PW50 from a friend for my son's birthday. He turns 7 in June, figured we're over due for a bike he can actually ride.

Unfortunately this is the best picture I've got at the moment. I'm hoping I'll be able to find some time in the two weeks before his birthday to fix the ignition switch (not in great shape) and just generally clean it up without him noticing and asking too many questions. $400, starts right up and seems to run great, even has a title. Now we just need to find someplace bigger than our back yard for him to ride.

Ours has been a great little bike, previous owner eliminated the pre injection which I didn't like but whatever. It's cool you can limit the throttle !

my first bike was a 1982 pw50. my older brother had it new, then me, then my little brother. my dad sold it around 1997? then in 2014 it was tracked down in NC and shipped back to my older brother.

I now have it in 675 pieces to restore it lol. good news is, its ready to be assembled

rode it around our cul-de-sac a bit last night just to keep the gas moving in the carb, and this bike does NOT seem to like having an adult on it. I'm a little afraid we'll need to change out the clutch before too long (after I played on it a bit), but since my son weighs roughly 1/4 what I do I'm hoping it'll hold up ok for him for now.

For Father's Day I chose to do his birthday present a day early.

He did pretty well for his first time, going straight at least. Still have to work on not just grabbing a handful of brake, especially when turning. He kept getting up and getting back on though.
