question about mini's...

i have noticed that a lot of people tend to ride only xr50's and nothing else. is there a reason for that?

because i was in the market of getting a small dirt bike just for and giggles and was wondering why people went for xr50's opposed to say a xr70.
can you not stunt a xr70 or something? and why people only use honda's?

any unbiased information would be appreciated it.

thanks in advance.

2 stroke generally make more power

4 stroke generally more reliable

as for your first question, i dont understand it either

hondas are cheap to buy(for the most part) reliable!! and tons of parts for them.

i had a sikk mx pit bike.. basically a built 50.. 125cc 4spd yadda yadda... i cracked the block kick starting it... kill switches burnt up, cracked a fork tube doing endos, rear brake locked up on its own, cdi box took a , the 2nd motor the sent.. the valves were over tightened and wouldnt kick over... i had lots of problems with the knock off honda.. (there are a few good "knock offs" but they are for mini mx racing and push 20hp and are about 8grand)

some people stunt the 70s.. that will be my next buy since theres a big hype for the 50s im hoping to snag a 70 for cheaper

th xr and crf 50 are the same except a tiny change in plastics, and honda because it doesnt suck like the others and the reason its the 50 is cause you can find a ton of parts for it everywhere

and what kinda fuel does a xr70 and xr50 use? is it just regular unleaded? or do you have to mix something in the fuel?

jus drive the 50 or 70 to the gas station and fill'er up with some 87 and be on your way.
the only 2 strokes they sold in the mini bikes, were cobras, ktms, husky(dunno what the actual name is, but it has a Q in it somewhere ha) and those were for actual racing, and i believe some where jus one gear so 3yr old kids could race em without having to shift

also xr50.com has parts for alot of other minis

i would just go buy a new wheel. cheaper that way, and you dont have to worry about the wheel being bent. you can get a wheel for like 50 or 60 bucks and brake rod, 20 or 25 bucks

if you wanted to step it up a bit. you could also swap over to a disc brake(front or rear) but thats a bit more money.
they make "heavy duty" spokes which i guess are thicker than factory ones. and you can get stronger rims too. xr50.com has both rims and spoke kits.
