750 Yamaha?

I was getting petrol in Kemah today and a YZF-750 pulled in. I didn't even know that Yammie made 750's. Well, I did know that they made the R7 for a couple years, but I didn't think this was it. I was asking the dude about it, and all I got out of his broken english was that it was a 97, and that he just got it, and it didn't run so good. The frame and wheels were chromed and peeling all over, and it looked like .

Were they good bikes? How do they perform in comparison to an R6?

( yes, I know there is a 150cc difference )

Britt
