cop trouble

Saturday night (sunday morning) i was going home on westeimer at 2am. A cop pulled me over for speeding, and also gave me a soberity test which i passed. Today i talked to my neighbor who i ride with and he got pulled over at 2:15am along with another biker. He got a ticket for speeding and having a bald rear tire, the other guy who we don't know got a ticket for speeding, no insurance, and no class M license. The weird thing is that it was the same officer who pulled all of us over. Its like this guy has something out for bikers. His name was J Aguilar. anyhow i guess i just had to vent. I cant see how this guy can give 3 bikers tickets within a period of like 30 mins.

Well of course cops will f*ck with you...especially at 2am on WESTHEIMER. Frustrating, but that's life.

Re: cop trouble

when you speed, you're taking that risk of getting pulled over. i'm not saying i never speed, but you gotta be ready for the consequences when you do.

Re: cop trouble

Just so you know, that officer was likely placed on special assignment to look out for bikes. Typically, they are prompted by citizen complaints. Also, because of the special assignmet, it was likely "no-tolerance" which means you're not going to get out of getting a ticket.

Re: cop trouble

Re: cop trouble

it did not bother me that he pulled me over for "allegedly" speeding. It me off to find out that he was just pulling over bikes at the time which does not seem fair. To know that i could be traveling the same speed in my car and would most likely not have gotten pulled over makes me angry.

Re: cop trouble

and chances are, if in your car, no chance you'd run

but on a bike, 'your' whole attitude changes..........not YOU but anyway, blame all the people who run and not the cops.......

If it's a citizen complaint-based special assignment, there's very little reason they need to pull you over. If they ticket you for speeding and you know you were not, take your chances in court. If there is no reason, then it's likely they're not going to ticket you.

Re: cop trouble

I went through the police academy at U of H DT, and one thing I learned is that if you follow someone for two min you can find a ton of things to pull them over for. There are so many things in the traffic laws that many people dont even know exist. So if they want to stop you its not hard to find the PC. The only advice I can offer you is have you stuff togeather and hope he is in a good mood. Just try to remember we are just doing our job. :dontknow:

I took my Zuk to galveston a couple weeks ago, on the ferry there were cops just walking around looking at cars and such for violations. They definately look at vehicles with paper plates on the back, also looking at inspection and registration of course.
Point is, they got you where you cant do nothing, so, if your not legit, dont go, they are gonna find ya.
