Im going to be going hipster/green

I am in negotiations for a Zero motorcycle DSR. Its a long story that I will tell when this thing is finalized. Short version: test ride, low speed low side, some chipped paint on a piece of frame=must replace the whole frame. So now it just makes more sense to buy the thing and see how I like riding an electric motorcycle. The test ride was nice aside from the get-off. The thing has torque! I will be posting up my impressions of the bike in a week or two.

Bring on the trolling that I know is sure to follow.....

I tried to get it covered, I only had liability coverage because my bike is so old collision wouldn't be worth it. Company is refusing to cover the test ride. After that failed I even tried to get my USAA auto to cover it under a loaned vehicle. Decision came back a no. I honestly liked the bike, and zero is offering a $1000 "gas" card which can be used for anything, that plus $1600 federal tax credit means I'm not overall too sad. It's all bogus damage that I wouldn't mind keeping as-is when I purchase. That and getting it financed at 2.99APR through a personal loan which I will be using for this and also refinancing some student loan debt which currently sits at 6.8APR. It's going to work out ok.

I test rode one at British USA. Pretty cool bike but a bit pricey. Got a little wheel spin coming out of u-turn.

How the heck did you low side?

It was a throttle response issue, that and there was some crummy road behind the dealership that I decided to try because I was trying to get the hang of the throttle set points.

So I guess the test ride waiver makes you responsible for any damages?

It was my understanding that dealerships have insurance that they use for just such an occasion to cover their . I'd tell them the problem is with their bike because there is an issue with the throttle response

how do you recharge the batteries on these things? i see a picture on the zero website, of a big plug that looks like a fuel pump. are there charging stations for electric cars/bikes? i live out in the country and we dont have like that out here. when you buy the bike, does it come with some sort of charging kit that you keep in your garage or house or whatever?

i like the idea of an electric bike. i imagine there is less maintenance involved, too. what cc would the zero compare to? it looks like a fat, ugly, chinese 250 (just saying)

Not when dealers carry insurance for this exact thing

it seems like something that should be covered by every dealer. this might be something that an upstart like zero cannot yet afford to implement in every dealership yet. idk.

Are you required to sign a waiver when test driving a motorcycle?

If test rider is covered in this case, then there's no need to try to blame the bike
