All they check is headlights, turnsignals, horn and ins. Sometimes they check to see if your plates are mounted where they are suppose to.

Mostly they check to see if your wallet is aligned. Then adjust your bank account.
Sometimes they look to see if the pressure in your credit card is correct.
Remember, it's a tax NOT a safety inspection.

Actually you do. Most inspectors don't care, or they just don't know. Everyone is so used to seeing bikes with exhausts that they just figure it's fine.

I'm one of the ones that doesn't give a .

actually you're wrong. it's a "SAFETY ONLY" inspection, doesn't matter if you bring a bike in with smoking guns. if the muffler was hangin off and about to fall off, that may be a different story.

Yup, on bikes and anything over 24 years old, it is a safety inspection only.

They are supposed to visually verify that original emissions equipment is installed and operating.

Reminds me of when I first moved down here, and went round and round with an inspector because my 68 Camaro had an open element air cleaner (original equip) and he tried to fail it because it had no snorkle and heat riser.
