bike value

Anyone here that does bike appraisals. I'm doing a bonded title for some one and Kelly blue book nor NADA have the year in their system. DMV needs a value so they know how much to value the bike at.

What I need is a VTR 125 form completed for them.

It's a 2004 Hyosung 250 comet.

Yes. it didn't pull up at all. Then they tried to reference it through KBB and NADA. Hyosung only goes back to 2005 for some reason.

Then they should have gone off the 2005 value with a standard depreciation, In my opinion

I tried that too.... I even told them to use that since it's just for taxing purposes then they could get a little more $$$. It was a no go.

Hmmm I would assume that any bike shop can appraise the bike free of charge...like they would a trade in

I know you have to be certified by the state, I don't know what it is though. could just be certified as an inspection station.

Patrick @ Motorcycles Unlimited can do it. State sets a minimum fee on appraisals for tax purposes, I believe it is $50 for motorcycles.

Why don't you look into getting certified? I know you do a lot of this type of work.

Out of the 15-20 bonded titles I've done, this is the first time I've had an issue at all. If NADA had a 2004 model listed, it would have went easy just like the others.

I'm just going to bite the bullet pay the $50 for the appraisal. I just have a problem paying someone $50 to write a paper that it's worth $900.

have you tried to look it up as an Alpha Sports or something like that? I believe that's who was importing them before Hyosung decided to take over distribution around '05...

edit: here ya go Al http://www.kbb.com/motorcycles/alpha...icetype=retail
