Yeah those things have been around for a while. Most of the time when you see them on the street though, they have a slight upward bend to them from going over speedbumps and driveway entrances that have any incline to them whatsoever.

Neighbor has these on his heritage springer... sounds pretty awful to me. There's no real drone or drum to it. Just say 'blat' and that's what it sounds like a hundred times faster. I like the looks, but the sound is a huge turn off.

I don't think so. Plenty of bagged Harleys around that don't have pipes like this.
I'm thinking is like them spoked wheels for cars that stick out 18" or them boots they wear in Mexico with the super long, curled up toes.
