Those guys on those bikes are faster at TWS (Texas World Speedway) too. Now, MotoAmerica at COTA, not so much

TBH, with no unnecessary disrespect- it sounds like you SHOULD def get on that R6.

If you arent aware/familiar with tire pressures and wear profiles, and how a bike SHOULD feel when set up right, then you really have nothing to compare to.

Check your pressures, make sure you arent using "squared off/worn flat etc" tires because they F UP your turn in, imagine trying to leab over that bigass corner that forms on the edge of that center wear strip.

Then, when you know what a normal functional tire feels like, get the suspension adjusted for your weight.

THEN - you will be amazed at how the bike handles, no matter what you are on.

No kidding. It even feels like garbage at normal tire pressure before the tires heat up. I can't imagine rolling around on seriously underinflated tires.

No offense taken. I knew that would come up as soon as I made my comment. I'm aware that it's most likely the tire and that I should have checked the air first but not riding much and coming home late it's last thing on my mind. I am capable of the r1 even though it's of course above my skill level but for riding the street anyone who max out use of even a 300 is insane anyway so to each there own.

Ok maybe I have a lot to learn. I'm all for going to the track but sorry I'm not maxing any bike out on the street, be it an r1 r6 or 250... Maybe this place isn't what I remember years ago when I used to ride with people on here but if me not wanting to drag knee on the 610 exit makes me need a lot to learn then I'm out. Any bike is too much for city driving if driven properly and to there limit. This has gone entirely off topic sorry to waste everyone's time

I'm having the most fun ever on my 250 but I don't ride streets anymore. IMO a 600 is enough bike for the streets...

I don't understand the "you rang?" but yes... on a 600... I don't think Brandon owns a liter bike
On the other hand I've seeing Danny Kelsey running a 1:49 from the start grid but that was on a liter bike

~141 is the lap record at TWS (Texas World Speedway). It was set on a bigger bike than a 600.

Are we really arguing over what goes faster at TWS (Texas World Speedway) a 1000 or 600? Same top Rider, same tires, ect... are you really saying they would go faster on a 600?

The point is that even with really good riders the difference is negligible. When it comes to the OP it wouldnt matter either way.

I would say ~ 4 seconds a lap is not negligable. In a 15 lap race that is over a minute. If i win by over a minute is that negligible?

I get what you guys are saying. The gap is closer but to say that a 600 is "just as fast" as a 1k all things being equal is ludicrous.

I also realize it won't matter for op. He isnt a top club racer. But i would bet if you asked which bike ty howard went faster on a 600 or a 1k or even the 800 well....

There is no replacement for displacement.

That's a tough comparison. Before Ty got the KTM, the record was 1:42.1, set on an R6 by Dane Westby. No one in the cmra, Ty included, could run a 1:41 at TWS (Texas World Speedway) as it sits right now. I really don't see anyone getting below a 43, on any displacement.
