Did you ever meet his brother Danny?

I raced through the woods on a 125cc Penton with Danny.

Somebody told me that Danny had hopped up a 50cc Honda for Freddie when he was about 5 and took him over to Dallas where he lapped the second place rider. Never got to hear it from Danny. Went into the Army shortly there after.

Marquez would be on top without rider aids. He uses them the least and Teams routinely turn them off when a new rider first rides a MotoGP bike. Marq rode the wheels off it and they only added the minimal amount thereafter.

Not the only time just the last time...

Several riders have won the 500 championship and lower class championship in same year. Some multiple times and for multiple years in a row. Ago did it 5 years in a row, Surtees 3 years in a row.

In all 25 times 13 different riders have won double world championships in a single season.

But yes the list is longer than just one man who all thought they'd have something to gain there. Perhaps that's part of the challenge with Lorenzo.

Speaking of who, if this thread does get back on topic, here's a pick of Lorenzo practicing to ride the red beast...

jorge199811jaarmallorca

So much for only being able to ride wheels in line, a common anti Lorenzo claim, as he does to get the most out of the Yamaha.

Uh, I'd have to take you and your posts seriously to get upset. Don't confuse vulgarity with anger.

What's funny is you've never been brought up in conversation with anyone I've had contact with.

Let me clarify, the only reason you were brought up is somebody dropped your name and I asked if you were a in real life. They said, not as bad as you seem on here.

I guess that's a compliment. Right?

I would count, not being mentioned, as better than people being assured I was less of a than I seemed.

Probably 50/50 at least but it makes little difference. Four stroke bikes competing on equal displacement as they did back then required they be in a much higher state of tune than the two strokes of the day. And all of these would have been without any electronics to help.

Maybe Freddie may have told you about riding a 20,000 rpm four stroke which needed to be revved like a chainsaw that only he could ride to any success and how it compared with the two stroke at nearly half the revs which he met with instant success.

The allure of harder to ride bikes, Two stokes and the lack of electronics are often all bundled together in nostalgic way, but these things are independent. Just look at where the two stroke era left off, plenty of electronics and a 250cc class dominated to the point of exclusion for those who couldn't afford to play with electrons.

Thanks alot Texmex1!

I was up till 3:00 AM watching Fast Freddie Youtube videos!

All the Daytona races were fun to watch.

Still having Motogp meet ups?

Loving streamiing Motogp.com. I watch practices and qualifyings on my bedroom Plasma TV and races on a big screen.
