Hopefully one day I can attend the Schwantz school before he stops doing it.

Look into the Ed Bargy racing school. I took it at No problem raceway in LA. Its aimed primarily at racers looking to improve laptimes. No problem wasn't too bad of a track, but I would take it at Jennings GP in Florida if I had to do it again.

With the Code School, I wouldn't do the race school. Just cant justify the 2500 cost all at once, for what you would get out of it. I'm going back to laguna in Nov for the level 2 school. With his school you pretty much just show up with your gear if you're not local. Monterrey was very pretty and its a mini vacation for me.

Marcus McBain was next up with me before I crashed. Its 1k for two days of private training at OHR and you are the only student, plus he does all the suspension setup. All of the guys on his repsol / komodo team started out with training from him. Billy Lee 999 rides for him now and has trained, so I'm sure that he can give a better evaluation than I can.

No matter how long you've been riding you will take away something that you didn't know before. If that saves you from crashing a bit more often from making a preventable mistake then the class has paid for itself.

then why do professional athletes have coaches or trainers? why do people take lessons from the pros or watch the pros on film? without that teaching you can only reach a certain level, with that teaching you can raise your own bar

Winners are made...not born. If you've done any other sport in your life you will hear that phrase at least once, especially if you've played any team sports. Trackdays will make you faster to a certain point then you will hit a plateau where your times will level off. At this point is where most people will get the most bang for their buck on training.

The only thing with another racer teaching you is that, they'll never teach you everything that they know, especially if they see that you have potential to be a threat to them. my .02

for the avg joe this is probably not the case.

I think most of us are average joe's then. I dropped 7 seconds in one day with Ty's help.

Pro athletes possessed supernatural stregnth, skills and talents. I don't possess that talent so no matter how much money is spent on me training will not get me to that level.
