Well they'll start the inspection, but when they find an item that causes it to fail like "horn won't work", you won't get the necessary documents you need for registration renewal (license plate sticker).

That's what I'm saying though. On the "Pass/Fail" screen, there isn't a spot for Turn Signals.

Maybe turn signals aren't required

You do not have to have blinkers but if you have lights (read blinkers) ON THE BIKE they must work.

my last 2 inspections were approved by word of mouth. Now if I'd just take the time to register the thing....almost to June, maybe this year.

If one blinker is out, there is still no place to fail you for a blinker

There's no box for VIN, but it's required, right?

You do not have to have blinkers. But if you HAVE THEM ON THE BIKE. Do you have blinkers on the bike? Easilly visible? If yes then they must work.

It is a safety thing. Say you are sitting at a light to make a left. Your not working blinker that is clearly visible is not on. Nobody thinks you are going left because your blinker isn't on. You go left and get t boned. The driver is going to say you didn't have your blinker on. Do you get it?

If the light is on the bike it must work. I don't know how else to say it.

Or just go get it inspected and they aren't going to say anything to you anyway. Either way let us know how it goes.

I go to the courthouse on cypresswood. Usually takes about 30 minutes if all your paperwork is in order. You should go do that.

I UNDERSTAND What You're saying. Yes, it is safe to have all lights working. BUT YOU CANNOT GET FAILED FOR IT. IT IS NOT PART OF THE INSPECTION. THERE IS NOT A SPOT THAT THE INSPECTOR CAN BE LIKE"OH, ONE BLINKER DOESN'T WORK, FAIL". You cant get failed for a bike not having a VIN number. If the inspector cannot verify the VIN, then the inspection doesn't even begin. You do not get failed

Just like a cracked-to- windshield on a car. You cannot get failed for it, but the inspector can refuse to do the inspection

Blinkers

Sorry but some of you guys arguing about the blinkers are not informed. Blinkers ARE NOT an item subject to inspection period. You don't have to have them and even if you do they don't have to work. However if you don't have them you are required to use hand signals. This was confirmed by the instructor in inspection class. If you go to a car place they will probably not check much of anything.

I go to a little run-down shop on Chimney Rock between San Felipe and Westheimer. They just give me the inspection form and that's it.

Hilariously, all of my bikes are 100% legal. Stock turn signals all work, head-lights, tail-lights, etc.
