Rockets beat Lakers 130-110 to keep playoff chances alive

The Rockets kept their slim playoff chances alive with a 130-110 victory over the Lakers Sunday afternoon at Toyota Center.

James Harden had 40 points and 13 assists to pace the Rockets. Kobe Bryant, in his last game in Houston, scored 35 points.

The Rockets (39-41) are only 0.5 games behind Utah for the eighth and final playoff spot, pending the outcome of the Jazz's Sunday evening game against Denver.

Houston is three games behind Dallas, who is in seventh place, pending the Mavericks' game against the Clippers.

Dallas and Utah play each other on Monday night. The Rockets play Minnesota on the road, then host Sacramento Wednesday night to close out the regular season.
