TBH if you're REALLY too small for any of these TINY 1000cc I4's...

You should look way outside the box.

The air/oil cooled 1100 hypermotards are tiny and rip.

Does an FZ-09 count?

The truth is the smallest 1000cc's around are all the ones you're saying are too big.

Even the vtwins- the ol sv1k and buells are bigass top-heavy (okay not the buell as much) bikes.

The CBR1krr is a shrimp.

Check out a Z1000 or the new nakey gixxa 750/1k.

to be honest my sv650 is pretty light and nimble and when i sat on a new-ish kawasaki z1000 i was like WOW this is even more nimble than the SV650.

That being said, you mentioned litre bikes...are you looking for Supersports or anything with 1000 cc? i'd go sit on a z1000 you wont be disappointed (from a purely agile aesthetic standpoint)

I know where you could get a ducati streetfighter...
Narrow, v twin, 155hp, 412lbs. Might be outta of the price range you were thinking but it's a hand grenade.
Just sayin.

At 5'6", I don't consider myself a big guy either and have road various liter bikes all my life. Go sit on a few, check them out. You might be surprised how well they do fit.
Some good suggestions have been made on here.
I'm currently on an SV1k and it's very comfortable for my size.

I miss riding so much

Isn't that more of a question that prospective dates ask?

He rides YZR M1. It's a liter bike. Stats say he's 6'1" but only 148lb.
The RC213 is a liter bike. Marquez is 5'6"

The point is- "Lightweights" riding liter bikes.
I'm sure OP can find a used RC213V for around $3000....

Yes, when you're talking about bikes the the top 5 questions are:
1) How small are you?
2) Will I be getting anything that I don't want?
3) What's your name..... nah, just forget it....
4) What's your sister's name?
5) What do you like to ride?
